Brandon Sneed is an author and journalist living in Wilmington, NC. He has contributed to numerous local, regional, and national publications, among them being Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Sports Spectrum, and Our State. He writes regularly for magazines and newspapers in the Wilmington area. He recently finished a five-month column series about training for and racing triathlons. Unfortunately, this also required he, well, train for and race triathlons. But he survived, and in the meantime, he wrote this book.

He has also written about Ivan Castro, the remarkable military veteran who is the only blind active officer in the Special Forces; Joe DeSena and his crew, who created the soon-to-be-legendary Spartan Race; Scott Johnson, the first man to finish an Ironman after surviving a double lung transplant; and many others. He lives to tell others' stories, that they might uplift and inspire.

The Edge of Legend is Brandon's first book. The author, an award-winning young journalist, attended Barton College with Anthony Atkinson when Ant did all he did for Wilson. Brandon witnessed firsthand the impact Ant's accomplishment had on the city. He saw how it changed people because meeting Ant changed him, too. One day, he'll tell that story.

Meanwhile, two years later, he decided to tell Ant's story. A year and a half -- and hundreds of interviews and research materials -- later, here it is. Along the way, Brandon discovered a compelling story that goes beyond that national championship....beyond the game of basketball....beyond Ant himself.

The Edge of Legend is ultimately the story of a boy learning to make his father's vision for his life his own, and making his parents' faith in God something he accepted himself. As it goes with all our lives, Ant's high points were counterbalanced by excruciating lows. How Ant made it through it all, and the end result of his journey -- his battle, even -- makes for a story as important as any you've ever heard.
